About us

Genesis is a family run company, established in 2005 by husband and wife, Scott and Emma Eden. 

As a business, we take great pride in being able to demonstrate our diligence and professionalism not only through our experience, but through our supporting qualifications. 

All of our employees are fully qualified and competent in works undertaken. 

Genesis employees either hold chartered membership of relevant institutions or are progressing towards chartered membership. 

Scott Eden B.Sc., Dip.QS.

In September 2005, Scott established Genesis and has continued to develop and expand the company’s services to focus on specialising in the provision of Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Services. Scott strives to ensure a high quality professional service is provided to clients. Scott is responsible for the management of the business’s operations including aspects such as; personnel, finances, client accounts and administration.

Emma Eden B.Sc.(Hons), M.Sc., MCIOB, IMaPS, CMIOSH

Emma commenced her career in construction project management, gaining over 12 years of experience in this industry.

As a Director of Genesis since 2005, Emma has driven the expansion of the company’s provision of occupational health, safety and environmental services. Emma has health and safety experience across a variety of industries including, local government, manufacturing, construction and retail/leisure. She is particularly specialist in the fields of occupational health, construction and engineering workshops.

Georgie Corner B.Sc., Adv.Dip.

Georgie commenced her nursing career in 2001 working predominantly within acute medicine and critical care environments and as a result has a vast understanding of chronic health conditions which affect our ageing population and workforce. She began to work in Occupational Health in 2012, achieving her Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health through Lancaster University.  

Georgie has experience working in a variety of occupational settings including manufacturing, construction, health care and leisure.  She is adaptable and skilled within many areas of occupational health and particularly specialises in absence management and fitness to work

Taye Patterson photo

Taye Patterson B.Sc.(Hons), CMIOSH

Taye commenced her role in occupational and environmental health and safety within the manufacturing industry, where she gained several years’ experience. Since joining Genesis in 2016, Taye has built upon and expanded this experience working with clients across a variety of industries including local government, manufacturing, construction, utilities and retail/leisure. Taye is particularly specialist in food manufacturing and hygiene, utilities and behavioural safety.

Paul Rae 

Paul commenced his career in manufacturing, subsequently working in the nuclear power industry for 15 years. Throughout his career and as a retained fire fighter since 1998, Paul has been involved in health and safety and training performance.

Since joining Genesis in early 2018, Paul has built upon and expanded this experience and has worked with clients across a variety of industries including local government, manufacturing, construction, utilities and retail/leisure.

Emma McLellan 

Emma commenced her nursing career in 1994, initially worked in learning disability areas and then from 2005 to 2014 within acute medicine/critical care environments and on to the prison service. Emma also has voluntary sector experience to complement her career achievements and qualifications.

She began working in Occupational Health in 2016 and has experience working in a variety of occupational settings including manufacturing, local authority and health care. 

A pragmatic and adaptable occupational health professional, Emma specialises in absence management and fitness for work / management referrals.

Erin Wilson B.A.(Hons)

Erin has experience working in a variety of occupational settings including leisure, industrial and intellectual services. Her background in human resources provides Erin with an exceptional understanding of this aspect of occupational health.  She is skilled in conducting surveillance and is a proficient and adaptable communicator.

Alison McDougall B.A.(Hons)

Dr. Mary Blatchford

MB ChB, MPH, MFOM, MRCGP, DCH (Glasgow), DRCOG

Mary is our Consultant Occupational Health Physician and is licensed to practice through the General Medical Council (GMC)
After graduating from Glasgow University, Mary commenced her career in General Practice, from here she developed a keen interest in occupational health and gained specialist qualifications in this field and public health. Mary is a member of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine and Royal College of Physicians. She is an appointed doctor for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in various areas including Asbestos, Ionising radiation and HAVS.
